Kuala Lumpur, June 20 -- India's Velavan Senthilkumar clinched a bronze medal at the Asian Squash Championships 2025 after going down to second seed Alex Lau Tsz Kwan of Hong Kong China in the men's singles semifinal here on Friday.
The 45th-ranked Indian, who had not dropped a game en route to the semifinals, fought valiantly before losing 1-3 (9-11, 11-13, 11-5, 6-11) to world No. 41 Lau in a tightly contested encounter.
Despite the loss, the result marked Senthilkumar's second consecutive podium finish at the continental event. He had won silver in the 2023 edition, where he lost to Malaysia's Ng Eain Yow in the final. Both losing semifinalists are awarded bronze medals at the championships.
