Mumbai, March 10 -- The BSE Sensex on Monday jumped 240 pts at 74,572 in the opening session on the strength of FMCG, Finance Services and Health Care stocks.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 56.75 pts at 22,609.25.
Easing 7 points in the previous session, the equity market opened in green, with the Sensex registered intra days high at 74,741.25 and low at 74,156 pts.
The Nifty registered days high and low at 22,676.75 and 22,498.65 pts respectively.
The mid cap improved 0.02 pc while the small cap fell 0.62 pc.
In 30 scrips, 20 advanced while 10 declined.
The gainers were Powergrid by 3.53 pc to Rs 272.50, Hind Unilever by 1.74 pc to Rs 2242.05, Bajaj Finserv by 1.69 pc to Rs 1878.10 and Bajaj Finance by 1.69 pc to Rs 8547.
