Mumbai, May 6 -- The BSE Sensex remained firm for the third straight session on Tuesday, advancing 110 pts at 80,907.24 in opening trade on the strength of Auto, Telecommunications and FMCG stocks amid a positive Asian market.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 39 pts at 24,500.75 pts.

The BSE Sensex registered an intraday high at 80,981.58 and an intraday low at 80,782.11, respectively.

The Nifty registered a day's high at 24,509.20 and a low at 24,451.05 pts.

The mid cap fell 0.10 pc while the small cap rose 0.02 pc.

In 30 scrips, 10 advanced while 20 declined.

The gainers were M&M by 2.34 pc to Rs 3092, Bharti Airtel by 1.47 pc to Rs 1892.90, Bajaj Finserv by 0.65 pc to Rs 2038.55 and Nestle India Ltd by 0.41 pc to Rs 2340.05....
