Mumbai, June 18 -- The BSE Sensex on Wednesday rose by 90.29 points to 81,673.59 in early trade as buying was seen in Realty, Auto, Oil & Gas and IT shares.
The Nifty too advanced by 40.35 pts to 24,893.00.
Sensex registered intra-day highs and lows at 81,704.91 and 81,304.10, respectively.
The Nifty registered a day's high at 24,896.10 and a low at 24,776.90 pts.
Midcap advanced by 11.13 points, and small cap fell by 138.59 pts.
Sectoral gainers were IT by 0.15 pc, auto by 0.20, oil & gas by 0.04 pc, realty by 0.32 pc and tech by 0.05 pc.
Sectoral losers were energy by 0.01 pc, FMCG by 0.19 pc, financial by 0.25 pc, healthcare by 0.23 pc, industrial by 0.46 pc.
