Mumbai, Oct. 17 -- Maintaining a positive streak for the fifth straight session on Thursday, the BSE Sensex posted a solid gain of 453.07 points, breaching 39K level to 39,052.06 supported by banks, auto and FMCG stocks.

Sentiment also boosted after European Union (EU) and UK negotiators reached a draft agreement on a new Brexit deal.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) too advanced by 122.35 points to 11,586.35.

The day opened at 38,647.44, rising by 49 points. During the day it spurted 606 points to 39,104.69 day high before closing at 39,052.06, up by 453.07 points from its previous close.

The Nifty recorded day high and low at 11,599.10 and 11,439.65 respectively.
