Mumbai, June 12 -- BSE Sensex in a volatile trade on Thursday tanked by 823.16 pts to settle at 81,698.91 amid feeble global cues. Investors are assessing the trade deal between the US and China while monitoring tensions between the US and Iran, which have pushed oil prices higher.
National Stock Exchange (NSE) too slumped 253.20 points to settle at 24,838.40
The Sensex opened at 82,571.67 against its previous close of 82,515.14 and plunged to an intraday low of 81,523.16. It recorded the day high of 82,661.04
The NSE registered a day's high at 25,196.20 and a day's low at 24,825.90
Mid-cap declined by 1.52 pc and the Small-cap fell by 1.38 pc.
