Mumbai, March 5 -- Snapping a losing streak of the last three sessions, the BSE Sensex on Wednesday jumped 486 pts to 73,476 in the opening session as buying was seen across the board amid the positive Asian market.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 155.20 pts at 22,237.85.
The Nifty registered days high and low at 22,265.15 and 22,067.80 pts, respectively.
The Midcap rose 1.58 pc and Smallcap by 1.65 pc.
In 30 scrips, 25 advanced while 5 declined.
The gainers were M & M by 2.71 pc to Rs 2684.95, Tata Steel by 2.62 pc to Rs 142.95, NTPC by 2.29 pc to Rs 321.05 and Adani Ports by 2.20 pc to Rs 1082.65.
The losers were Bajaj Finance by 2.70 pc to Rs 8356.35, Bajaj Finserv by 1.76 pc to Rs 1776.65, Ultrasemco by 0.33 pc to Rs 10,328...
