Mumbai, March 21 -- The BSE Sensex remained strong for the fifth session on Friday, rising 174.52 pts at 76,522.58 in opening session as buying was seen across the board.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 61.90 pts at 23,252.55.
The Sensex registered intra days high at 76,616.38 and low at 76,095.26 pts.
The Nifty registered days high at 23,276.70 and low at 22,132.80 pts.
The Mid cap rose by 1.02 and small cap by 1.47 pc.
In 30 scrips, 17 advanced, 12 declined while one was unchanged.
The gainers were Bajaj Finance by 2.87 pc to Rs 8928.95, Sun Pharma by 1.63 pc to Rs 1778.60, Maruti Suzuki by 1.18 pc to Rs 11,874.90 and Kotak Bank by 1.17 pc to Rs 2059.15.
