Mumbai, May 23 -- The BSE Sensex on Friday surged 769.09 pts to close positive, regaining 81K level at 81,721.08 following gains in FMCG, Power, Utilities and Financial services stocks amid positive Asian Market.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) jumped 243.45 pts at 24,853.15.
Slumping over 600 pts in Thursday, the BSE Sensex opened weak at 80,897, easing 54 pts. It immediately bounced back and posted a massive gains of 954 pts at 81,905.17, days high, before closing at 81,721.08, advancing 769.09 pts from its previous close.
In stocks like FMCG, Power, Utilities and Financial services lifted the market today. The equity market rallied despite weak US and European market.
