Mumbai, Feb. 25 -- Snapping a losing streak of the last five sessions, the BSE Sensex on Tuesday recovered 147.75 pts to close at 74,602.12 on the strength of Telecommunications, Consumer Durable, and FMCG stocks despite weak global cues.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell 5.80 pts at 22,547.55.

Slight oscillation was seen during the session, as the Sensex opened negative at 74,440.30, and fell 14 pts. It further declined 154 pts at 74,400.37, a day low. Later, it erased earlier losers, gained nearly 331 pts at 74,785.08, a days high, before closing at 74,602.12, gaining 147.75 pts from its previous close.

The Nifty registered a day high at 22,625.30 and low at 22,513.90 pts.
