Mumbai, May 22 -- Erasing previous day's gains, the BSE Sensex on Thursday tanked 644.64 pts to settle below 81K level to 80,951.99 on weak global cues. Investors across the globe were hit by growing concerns about the US economy.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell 203.75 pts to 24,609.70.
A weak 20-year US government bond auction raised concerns about America's fiscal health, after Moody's recently cut the country's credit outlook.
Even, spurt in Corona cases in foreign countries also impacted the same.
Surging over 400 pts on Wednesday, the Sensex opened in red at 81,323.05, declining 273 pts. Within ten minutes, it crashed over 700 pts.
