Mumbai, June 16 -- BSE Sensex on Monday rebounded by 677.55 to close at 81,796.15, after two straight sessions of losses, despite lingering concerns over rising geopolitical tensions between Israel and Iran that continued to impact the global market sentiment.

National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 227.90 points to settle at 24,946.50

The Sensex opened at 81,034.45 against its previous close of 81,118.60 and rose to an intraday high of 81,865.82. It recorded the day low off 81,012.31.

The NSE registered a day's high at 24,967.10 and a day's low at 24,703.60

Mid-cap rose by 0.93 pc and the Small-cap advanced by 0.38 pc.
