New Delhi, March 10 -- Domestic equity benchmarks opened on a positive note on Tuesday, with the BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 trading higher in early morning deals amid buying across key sectors.
The 30-share Sensex was trading at 77,971.15, up 404.99 points or 0.52 per cent, around 10:28 am, compared to the previous close of 77,566.16.
The index opened at 78,375.73 and touched an intraday high of 78,526.25, while the day's low stood at 77,745.47.
Similarly, the broader Nifty 50 advanced 137.95 points or 0.57 per cent to trade at 24,166.00.
The index opened at 24,280.80 and moved between a high of 24,303.80 and a low of 24,079.95 during early trade.
In the previous session, the benchmark had settled at 24,028.05.
