Mumbai, June 18 -- Counting its downward streak for the second straight session, the BSE Sensex on Wednesday declines 138.64 points to close at 81,444.66, tracking negative cues from global peers amid rising geopolitical tensions between Israel and Iran.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE), too, fell by 41.35 points to settle at 24,812.05.
The Sensex opened lower at 81,314.62 against its previous close of 81,583.30 and fell to an intraday low of 81,237.01; it recorded the day's high at 81,858.97.
The NSE registered a day's high at 24,947.55 and a day's low at 24,750.45
Mid-cap fell by 0.34 pc and the small-cap by 0.34 pc.
The market breadth was weak on the BSE as 1,532 share rose and 2,444 shares fell. A total of 139 shares were unchange...
