Mumbai, May 6 -- Snapping the winning streak of last two sessions, the BSE Sensex on Tuesday slipped by 155.77 points in a volatile session to settle in negative at 80,641.07 on profit-booking by local operators.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) also declined 81.55 pts to 24,379.60.
The Sensex advanced 110.40 pts to 80,907.24 in opening session and then rallied 185 pts to hit day's high of 80,981.58. Later, it nosedived by 315 pts to touch day's low of 80,481.03, before closing in red at 80,641.07, down by 155.77 pts as compared to its previous close.
The Nifty registered day's high at 24,509.65 and low at 24,331.80 pts.
Stocks that dragged the market were Realty, Power, Industrials and BSE services.
