Mumbai, May 26 -- The BSE Sensex on Monday further advanced 455.37 pts, crossing 82K level at 82,176.45 following extension of trade talk deadline with EU by US President Donald Trump easing tariff fears amid mixed trend in global market.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) jumped 148 pts at 25,001.15.

Investor sentiment was boosted by the fact that India has become the fourth largest economy overtaking Japan.

Registering a massive gains of 769 on Friday, the day opened on a strong note at 81,928.95, up 207 pts. It remained strong throughout the session, as it spurted 771 pts at 82,492.24, days high, before closing at 82,176.45, up 455.37 pts from its previous close.
