Mumbai, Jan. 29 -- The BSE Sensex gained further by 425 pts at 76,326 in the opening session as buying was seen across the board.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 118 pts to 23,230.75.
The equity market was seen as strong as the Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 76,355.67 and 75,983.53 pts, respectively.
The Nifty registered days high and low at 23,106.45 and 22,976 pts respectively.
The mid cap moved up 1.93 pc and the small cap by 2.38 pc.
In 31 scrips, 24 advanced while 7 declined.
The gainers were Zomato, which rose by 2.90 pc to Rs 214.40; Tata Motors by 2.07 pc to Rs 743.50; Tech Mahindra by 1.81 pc to Rs 1675.25; and Infosys by 1.52 pc to Rs 1856.30.
