Mathura, Sept. 2 -- In a major crackdown on corruption, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested UCO Bank's Senior Manager Garima Singh and her alleged middleman Arif Mohammad red-handed while accepting a bribe at the bank's Kotwali Road branch in Mathura.
According to officials, the arrests were made yesterday, in connection with a bribe demand linked to a sanctioned loan. The complaint was filed by Murari Lal, the proprietor of Radhakrishna Flour Mill, a resident of Mandi Chowk in the Highway police station area.
Lal had applied for a Rs 1 crore loan from the bank, of which Rs 90 lakh had already been disbursed. However, the remaining Rs 10 lakh was withheld by the bank.
