Chandigarh, Dec. 23 -- A senior Congress leader was shot by unidentified assailants who entered his house on the pretext of seeking work in Punjab's Moga district on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The injured leader, identified as former councillor Narinderpal Singh Sidhu, sustained gunshot wounds to his shoulder and leg. He was rushed to a private hospital in Moga, where doctors said his condition is stable, but he remains under medical observation.
