Ankara, June 1 -- A senior leader of the Islamic State terrorist group (IS, banned in Russia) was detained on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border during a covert intelligence operation, Turkish state news agency Anadolu reported on Sunday.

The man, identified as Ozgur Altun, was captured in a joint operation conducted by Turkish and Pakistani intelligence agencies. He is billed as the terror group's highest-ranking Turkish member in charge of IS media and logistics.
