Hyderabad, July 12 -- Veteran freedom fighter and senior Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Dodda Narayana Rao passed away at the age of 96 at his residence in Hyderabad on Friday night.
Expressing his condolences, senior CPI leader Dr K Narayana described Rao as a principled leader who remained committed to his ideology throughout his life. He recalled that Dodda Narayana Rao had actively participated in the freedom struggle, fighting against the Nizam's rule in the 1940s.
Rao served as the CPI Nalgonda district secretary and also as the general secretary of the district farmers' association. Dr Narayana praised his lifelong dedication to public service and the Communist movement.
