Shillong, Nov. 24 -- The glory, grandeur and solemn dignity of the indigenous Khasi faith and culture were highlighted as hundreds of youths, elderly men and women attired in traditional dress took to the streets in this mountainous state capital of Meghalaya today to celebrate the annual Seng Kut Snem Festival, marking the 126th Foundation Day of the Seng Khasi Movement.

The colourful ceremonial procession highlighted the diverse and rich Khasi tradition through folk music and tableaux depicting various facets of the indigenous lifestyle.

The procession, which started from the Fire Brigade Ground culminated at the Weiking Ground, where traditional dances were held and prayers offered by indigenous priests.
