Chandigarh, Jan. 12 -- Emphasising that self-reliance in defence is both a national necessity and a strategic imperative, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh on January 10 said India stands at a crucial juncture in its defence and industrial evolution. Addressing the Defence Skilling Conclave on Defence, Aerospace and Strategic Sector Skill Development here, he underlined that long-term strategic autonomy can only be achieved through sustained indigenisation of manufacturing, skills and technology.
