Ranchi, Dec. 14 -- An Atma Raksha Prashikshan Kendra (Self-Defence Training Centre) was inaugurated at the Doranda College campus here on Sunday.
The centre was jointly inaugurated by Project Director, Women Development Society-cum-Director, Social Welfare, Kiran Pasi (IAS), and Doranda College Principal Raj Kumar Sharma.
Under the initiative, girl students of the college will be provided free karate training under the guidance of Shihan Ranjit Mehta (6th DAN Black Belt). The programme has been launched as a pilot project under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme through the joint efforts of the Jharkhand Women Development Society and Doranda College.
