Hyderabad, March 22 -- Telangana Panchayat Raj, Women and Child Welfare Minister Seethakka on Saturday inaugurated a De-Addiction Centre at the Saidabad Observation Home, a significant step in the state's fight against drug abuse.

The centre, established under the Department of Empowerment of Disabled, Elderly & Transgender Persons, aims to provide rehabilitation, awareness, and treatment services for children affected by drug abuse.

Speaking at the event, Minister Seethakka emphasised the growing drug addiction crisis among youth, attributing it to various societal influences. She highlighted that substance abuse not only affects health, education, and employment but also contributes to rising crime rates and societal instability.
