Chennai, Aug. 13 -- Heightened security arrangements were put in place in Tamil Nadu
as part of the Independence Day celebrations on Augusg 15, when Chief Minister M K Stlain
will host the National Flag from the ramparts of Fort.St.George in the city and deliver his
address.
Police sources said, though there was no specific threat to the state, multi-layer security
arrangements were put in place across the state as with the deployment of nearly one lakh
police personnel.
Reports said the security was tightened as a precautionary measure in view of the recent
Operation Sindoor launched by India to dismantle the Pakistan terror camps to avenge the
Pahalgam terror attack that snuffed out the lives of 22 innocent tourists in April.
