Srinagar, July 23 -- Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, today underscored the need for heightened security measures ahead of two major upcoming events in the Valley - the North Zone Regional Conference organised by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Kashmir University Alumni Meet.
The high-profile events, scheduled to take place in Srinagar later this week, will be attended by the Chief Justice of India, Justice B.R. Gavai, marking his first visit to Jammu & Kashmir after assuming office.
