Chaibasa, July 2 -- In a major breakthrough against left-wing extremism, security forces recovered around 18,000 live detonators in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.

The recovery occurred during a joint search operation launched on July 1, based on critical intelligence inputs. The operation was carried out by a joint team comprising personnel from the Chaibasa district police, CRPF 60 Battalion, and the Jharkhand Jaguar force.

The team focused their search efforts on the Tangi-Igmari forest area, located near Guhili village, within the jurisdiction of Tonto police station.

The operation led to the unearthing of a cache of detonators buried underground, suspected to have been stored by CPI (Maoist) cadres.
