Imphal, Dec. 30 -- A joint team comprising personnel from the Manipur Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Forest Department, and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) destroyed around 35 acres of illicit poppy cultivation in the hill ranges of Langkhong area in Kangpokpi district as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal narcotics cultivation yesterday.

During the operation, security personnel also dismantled and destroyed 12 huts believed to have been used by cultivators at the site. In addition, 13 bags of fertilisers, 19 bottles of Roundup herbicide, 16 bags of salt, and various cultivation equipment, including spray pumps, pipes, and other materials, were seized and destroyed on the spot, officials said.
