Kabul, May 7 -- The personnel of law-enforcing agencies have captured a band of kidnappers in northern Afghanistan's Badakhshan province, a spokesman of the national army in the province, Mullah Noorullah Nazari, said Wednesday.

The alleged kidnappers, composed of six individuals who were involved in kidnapping children in Yamgan and Baharak districts, have been identified and arrested with the cooperation of the locals recently, according to the official.

Without providing more details, the official noted that the security organs would spare no effort to ensure law and order elsewhere in Afghanistan.
