Imphal, Sept. 23 -- Security Forces apprehended a self-styled Lieutenant of a militant outfit from his residence under Nongpok Sekmai Police Station, Thoubal district.
Yesterday, the arrested cadre was reportedly involved in multiple extortion activities targeting the public, government employees, clubs and schools in Thoubal district.
In another operation carried out along the Sita-Tengnoupal Road in Tengnoupal district, Security Forces recovered a huge consignment of narcotics. Around 600 packets containing about 1,20,000 WY tablets, weighing about 13 kilograms, were seized from a bike. The vehicle had been abandoned by an unidentified rider who fled upon noticing the approaching forces.
