Durgapur, Dec. 4 -- The second round of the prestigious 51st National Women's Chess Championship, 2025 concluded on Thursday at the Sidhu Kanhu Stadium here, where the country's top women chess players are battling it out for national glory.

A total of 139 players from across 27 states and 3 affiliated units of the All India Chess Federation (AICF) are participating in this premier national event.

The tournament features an impressive field of 26 titled players including 7 Women Grandmasters (WGMs), underlining the elite standard of competition.

After the completion of two rounds, a tightly contested race has emerged, with 26 players jointly leading the standings with a perfect score of 2 points.
