Bahraich, Dec. 30 -- The Uttar Pradesh Forest Department on Tuesday shot dead another man-eating wolf during a rescue operation in the Kaiserganj forest range of Bahraich district. This is the second wolf killed by forest officials during the last 48 hours.
According to officials, the rescue team rushed to the spot near Bhiryapurwa village after receiving information about the presence of a wolf. On seeing the team, the wolf tried to flee towards nearby fields. After a prolonged chase, a department shooter fired at the animal, killing it on the spot.
Forest officials said the wolf was a male, approximately four years old. The carcass was sent for post-mortem and later disposed of as per protocol.
