Chaibasa, July 9 -- Another injured elephant calf has been discovered in the dense, Naxal-affected Saranda forest of Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district, triggering alarm among forest officials.
The calf was found near the Tiriliposi check dam on Tuesday and is currently under observation after receiving preliminary treatment.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Abhirup Sinha confirmed the incident, stating, "The injured calf has been given initial treatment.
A specialised rescue team from Vantara, Jamnagar, has been alerted and is expected to arrive shortly. Comprehensive medical care will be administered once the calf is tranquillized."
