Mumbai, Dec. 19 -- State Election Commissioner Dinesh Waghmare on Friday issued directives for the smooth conduct of the upcoming municipal corporation elections in Maharashtra, stressing the need for strict enforcement of the model code of conduct and robust administrative preparedness.
Waghmare was addressing a video conference meeting with commissioners of all 29 municipal corporations across the state. The meeting reviewed the status of election preparations. State Election Commission Secretary Suresh Kakani and other senior officials were present.
