Shimla, March 27 -- Himachal Pradesh State Election Commissioner Anil Khachi has imposed a blanket ban on the transfer of government officials involved in the Panchayati Raj and Urban Local Body election process to ensure smooth and impartial local polls.
The directive, issued by the State Election Commission, comes in view of the ongoing preparations for local body elections, which are to be completed within the timeline mandated by the courts.
The Commission has emphasized that officers engaged in electoral duties must not be disturbed to maintain continuity and administrative stability.
The order follows judicial directions mandating timely conduct of Panchayat elections, with the process expected to conclude by mid-2026.
