Shillong, Aug. 4 -- The search and rescue continues for the Meghalaya agriculture officer Teseng M. Sangma who was swept by the strong current of the Ganol river near Pelga of West Garo Hills district on Sunday, police officials said today.
Teseng, the Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer of South West Garo Hills district was swept away
while attempting to cross the Ganol River. The officer was on a picnic with his family near the river.
Rescuers from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Fire and Emergency Service of Meghalaya Police and local volunteers, resumed operations early this morning to trace the
missing officer, but in vain, Abraham T. Sangma, the district police chief of West Garo Hills,
told UNI.
