Kolkata, Aug. 11 -- West Bengal today received its first air conditioned local train as the Sealdah-bound EMU started its maiden commercial run with commuters from Ranaghat station in Nadia district, a day after Union minister Sukanta Majumdar formally flagged it off from Sealdah station in Kolkata.
At 08: 30 hours, the 12-coach EMU chugged off the Ranaghat station with the commuters, mainly office-goers and business people, and reached its destination, Sealdah, at 10:10 hours.
On the return journey, the same leaves Sealdah at 18:50 hours and reach Ranaghat in 20:32 hours. It will halt at Bidhannagar Road, Dum Dum Junction, Sodepur, Khardaha, Barrackpore, Naihati, Kanchrapara, Kalyani, and Chakdaha before reaching Ranaghat. To keep this ...
