Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 3 -- In view of the ongoing swell surge phenomenon, the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has issued an alert indicating a high possibility of coastal inundation along the Kerala coast.

Coastal inundation is expected due to high waves ranging between 1.5 and 1.8 meters from 5.30 pm on August 3 to 8.30 pm on August 4.

The affected coastal areas include Thiruvananthapuram (from Kappil to Pozhiyoor), Kollam (from Alappad to Edava), and Alappuzha (from Chellanam to Azhikkal Jetty).

Similarly, on the Kanyakumari coast, waves ranging from 1.6 to 1.9 meters are expected from 11.30 am on August 3 to 11.30 am on August 4, with a high likelihood of coastal inundation.
