Hyderabad, Feb. 6 -- South Central Railway (SCR) is actively encouraging the use of digital payments for ticket purchases at railway stations.

In a move to enhance the online infrastructure and streamline ticketing for rail users, SCR has introduced Point of Sale (PoS) machines and enabled Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payments at Passenger Reservation System (PRS) and Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) counters in major non-suburban (NSG) 1-4 and suburban category stations, a SCR statement said on Tuesday.

With a focus on catering to the evolving preferences of passengers and promoting online transactions, SCR has deployed over 466 PoS machines for PRS and UTS ticketing across the zone.
