Hyderabad, Oct. 14 -- South Central Railway (SCR) achieved its highest-ever single-day ticket checking revenue of Rs 1.08 crore on Monday, surpassing its previous record of Rs 92.40 lakhs.

The drive, conducted across all six divisions-Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, and Nanded-resulted in 16,105 cases of ticketless or irregular travel being registered.

Vijayawada Division contributed the highest revenue at Rs 36.91 lakhs, followed by Guntakal (Rs 28 lakh) and Secunderabad (Rs 27.9 lakh). The initiative aimed to curb ticketless travel and ensure comfort for genuine passengers, particularly during the Diwali and Chhath festive rush.
