Hyderabad, April 2 -- South Central Railway (SCR) has achieved a significant milestone in its 'Mission Zero Scrap' initiative by generating a record-breaking revenue of Rs 501.72 crore through the sale of scrap during the financial year 2024-25.
This marks the highest-ever revenue from scrap sales in the zone's history.
SCR has surpassed the target of Rs 430 crore set by the Railway Board for the financial year and recorded a notable increase from the Rs 411.39 crore revenue achieved in 2023-24. The zone has been at the forefront of resource optimization by effectively mobilizing scrap sales through e-auctions conducted via the Indian Railways E-Procurement System (IREPS) portal, a SCR statement said on Wednesday.
