New Delhi, Nov. 22 -- Efficient post-harvest management, particularly scientific storage of food grains, is vital to India's food security, farmer incomes and reduction of post-harvest losses, which can range from 6-10pc, said a report of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI).

Being one of the world's largest food gain producers, India is currently facing significant challenges in storage and supply chain infrastructure, which impact the preservation, quality and marketability of agriculture produce.

India ranks highly globally in arable land and foodgrain production, with major contributions from states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Odisha and Rajasthan.
