Chandigarh, March 16 -- Panic gripped educational institutions across Punjab as several schools in Jalandhar and Moga received threatening emails claiming that bombs had been planted on their premises.

The emails, reportedly sent by an organization identifying itself as the 'Khalistan National Army,' also threatened to target a Delhi-bound train, the Punjab Legislative Assembly, and statues of Dr B R Ambedkar. In response to the high-alert situation, school authorities in Moga's Gothewala, Ugoke, and Jhandiana villages immediately evacuated students and cancelled the ongoing Class 9 examinations to ensure the safety of pupils and staff.
