Chikkamagaluru (Karnataka), Oct. 29 -- A 25-year-old government schoolteacher was stripped and brutally assaulted by a man whose repeated advances she had rejected, police said today.
The accused, identified as Bhavith (24), a labourer from Balur village in Koppa taluk, was arrested and will be produced before court.
The incident occurred yesterday evening in the jurisdiction of Jayapura police station when the woman was returning home from work around 5 pm. According to police, the accused, who was known to the victim, confronted her on a secluded stretch and attacked her when she rejected his advances.
