New Delhi, July 17 -- The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the anticipatory bail granted to a man accused of raping a married woman on the false promise of marriage and rebuked the woman for having an extramarital affair.
A bench comprising justices MM Sundresh and N. Kotiswar Singh made these observations while hearing the woman's plea seeking cancellation of the man's anticipatory bail.
During the hearing, the woman's counsel argued that the accused repeatedly called her to hotels for physical relations under the false assurance of marrying her.
