New Delhi, Dec. 11 -- The State of Telangana informed the Supreme Court today that the former intelligence chief T. Prabhakar Rao, accused in the high-profile phone-tapping case involving surveillance of politicians and High Court judges during the previous BRS Government, was "not cooperating" with the ongoing investigation.

Appearing for the state, Senior Advocate Sidharth Luthra submitted that Rao's cooperation was merely on paper.

"He has done a paper cooperation. Either the devices are not opening, or they have been wiped out. So it is an exercise in futility," Luthra told the Court.

A Bench comprising Justice BV Nagarathna and Justice R Mahadevan was hearing Rao's anticipatory bail plea.
