New Delhi, Jan. 22 -- The Supreme Court today decided to constitute an expert committee to comprehensively examine issues relating to the definition of the Aravalli Hills and environmental concerns arising from mining activities in the region.

The proposed committee will function under the direct control and supervision of the Court.

A Bench, comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul Pancholi, sought suggestions for names of eminent environmentalists, forest experts and domain specialists who could be included in the expert body.
