New Delhi, July 29 -- The Supreme Court came down heavily on the Tamil Nadu government, accusing it of attempting to derail the trial in the infamous cash-for-jobs scam involving former State Minister V. Senthil Balaji.
The court observed on Monday that the State appeared to be intentionally delaying the trial by naming around 2,000 individuals, many of them poor job seekers, as accused in just two cases.
A Bench comprising Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi made scathing remarks while hearing a plea challenging the clubbing of multiple supplementary charge sheets with the main charge sheet in one of the corruption cases related to the scam.
