New Delhi, Jan. 12 -- The Supreme Court on Monday directed that the election process for the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) must be completed on or before June 30, 2026, making it clear that no further extension of time will be granted.
A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi also directed the State of Karnataka to publish the final ward-wise reservation notification by February 20, 2026. During the hearing, Senior Advocate Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing on behalf of the State of Karnataka, informed the Court that the process of notifying the ward-wise reservations would be completed within one month.
